Where is the Nordic Boutique Barn ?

It is in the Arctic Circle!

Nordic Boutique Barn

The Nordic Boutique Barn is in the small village of Skjelstad, in a beautiful area in North Norway in the county of Steigen. From here you can see the Lofoten Islands on the horizon.

How do i get there?

Take the train to Bodø, the nearest city and catch the boat to Steigen, Helnessund. You can walk from the train station to the port in less than 15 minutes. Or if you've got a lot to carry grab a cab or a bus.

You fly into Bodø Airport, it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the port. Or you can grab a 5 minutes cab or a 10 minutes bus.

Arriving at the port

Go into the terminal building and buy a ticket to Helnessund. The catamaran takes about an hour. Here we will pick you up. During busy times it is advisable to book in advance to secure a place. There is only one boat a day, so if you miss this one you have to overnight in Bodø unless you can drive to Steigen.

If you choose to drive from Bodø to Steigen you can hire a car in Bodø. Drive towards Tømmerneset in Hamarøy and follow the signs to Steigen, continue through the tunnel and in about one hour you arrive at the Nordic Boutique Barn at Skjelstad. The whole journey takes about 3-4 hours. You can also hire a car in Helnessund when you arrive, but there are only two cars. So please let us know so we can make sure there is one free for you.
